RASA resident Matty Wainwright invites Bill Brewster, celebrated British DJ, music historian, and author known for his deep knowledge of dance music culture and uplifting DJ sets spanning deep house, dubby disco, funk, and more. Both Wainwright and Brewster will share the night with local house music veteran, Brendon P.

Brewster was a chef, dabbled in football punditry, and was an avid record collector before he picked up DJing in the late 80s. His time in New York, where he ran DMC's US operation and played 'Low Life' warehouse parties in Harlem and the East Village, left a lasting mark on his style. When he's not behind the decks, he’s busy writing.

He and his mate Frank Broughton penned "Last Night A DJ Saved My Life," the go-to book on DJ history. He's also lent his witty Grimsby-born voice to just about every dance magazine out there, and even some national papers. In 2002, the dynamic duo dropped "How To DJ (Properly)," a cheeky guide to the art of spinning.

Bill Brewster has got his fingers in many pies. He brought Twisted records to the UK, launched his own deep house label Forensic, and spends his downtime in the studio. Whether he's re-editing old tracks with his Fat Camp partner Theo Noble or producing original tunes, he's always got something cooking.
